Fundamentals Course
Fundamentals Course
The R2P Fundamentals course is a full breakdown of all the components necessary to being a successful MSK practitioner. The focus is on establishing the foundational principles that connect assessment and rehab systems so that you can integrate everything into an efficient and effective treatment plan. With an even mix of didactic lecture material, hands-on assessment and intervention, and live breakouts the course is packed with tools that will immediately elevate you for clinical practice. The ultimate goal is to establish a framework that can be used to direct case management with confidence and enhance further education by providing the fundamental knowledge of where each new piece fits.
PRINCIPLES
- At R2P principles of the musculoskeletal system (biomechanics, neurology, anatomy) drive our understanding of the myriad of rehab systems out there today. When we grasp the principles method selection is seamless and uncomplicated. This course sets the stage of truly understanding the principles of human movement so you can integrate like the best in the profession.
INTEGRATION
- There’s a million different rehab/intervention systems available today to the rehab specialist, but how do they work together? By understanding the basic principles of human movement and following a thorough assessment framework intervention selection can be done with confidence. This course covers many of the most popular systems out there today and gives examples of how each can be integrated to truly give your patient everything they need to reach their goals.
ASSESSMENT
- A thorough assessment of the patient in front of you is the most critical contact point of any clinical encounter. But what does a fully integrated assessment look like? This is a major focus of this course and will help you understand how to use an assessment to become a clinical sniper.
PERFORMANCE
- Conservative MSK healthcare is notorious for under-loading patients and encouraging fragility and de-conditioning. You don’t have to be an elite athlete to benefit from being prepared for specific tasks. A key component to truly managing your patients is making sure they establish the lifelong lifestyle habits and the physical capacity to make health-span match lifespan. This course will cover the general themes of “performance” programming and how to scale these concepts for every single patient you will see, athlete or not.
